Bullseye Award

Each year, the organisation “Escape The Roomers” review thousands of physical escape rooms around the world, thousands of table top escape puzzle home games and thousands of digital escape games, both online team games and app/console games. This group have specialist reviewers based in different locations globally and examine the Escape Room industry in minute detail.

The culmination of all this work yearly is the “Bullseye Awards” – the annual Escape Game Recognition event which is an online awards extravaganza.

For the 2022 year, this online ceremony took place early this morning (Sydney time).

We, at Tailored Team Building were completely taken aback and honoured when we were named as winners in the “Best Puzzle” category. It seems really surreal to be able to call our first online escape game, developed during COVID by a team of two, here in Sydney, “Award Winning” and include the Bullseye Award badge on our site.

We have been long-time escape room fans and make sure if we are traveling to a city or country for an event, we challenge ourselves to a room or two. We have always said that one day we will own an escape room. But in the mean time, we settled on designing a virtual room.

We had so much fun developing the story then illustrating all of the scenes, before drawing on our love of both physical and digital escape games to plan all of the puzzles and the flow of the story. The game then went through several revisions after testing and release. In fact the first set of feedback we received was that the game took too long and had too many puzzles and levels in it. With that fixed the game was re-released and two versions put out; one with a built in video conference system so teams can play the game anytime, on their own. The second version uses Zoom to host larger groups and is fully hosted. Shortly after full release we hosted over 200 university students playing simultaneously with our hosts on hand to help.

Again, we are hugely honoured to receive this award and it has only made us more determined to finish the next chapter and several stand alone games we have started.
